Fenton Finally Has a Morning. Here's What It Looks Like Before the Rink Returns.

Where could you sit down with a coffee at Fenton at 8:15 on a Tuesday? Until this September, nowhere indoors. Western Wake NC reported that Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café, which opened quietly the week of September 1, 2026, is "the first spot to get breakfast or coffee with indoor seating in the development." Before that, the only coffee at Fenton came from Carriage House Coffee, a truck parked on the green.

That's an odd gap for a 92-acre development that has become one of eastern Cary's main gathering places. It also shows how Fenton is growing. The evenings and weekends came first. The morning is arriving late and in pieces, and the two pieces that would finish it still have no firm opening dates.

Fenton's day used to start at lunch

Line up the posted opening times and you can see where the day really starts. Here's an early-to-late list of when things open, taken from tenant pages and Fenton's own directory. Several of the directory listings date to 2025, so treat them as posted hours, not a guarantee.

  1. 6:00 a.m. weekdays: Club Pilates. It opens at 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and closes at noon those days.
  2. 8:00 a.m. daily: Sweet Paris, open until 9:00 p.m., with breakfast served all day.
  3. 8:30 a.m. most days: Carriage House Coffee at 23 Fenton Main Street. The truck's listing shows 10:00 a.m. on Sundays.
  4. 10:00 a.m. weekends: Superica's brunch, which runs until 3:00 p.m. On weekdays, Superica opens for lunch at 11:00 a.m.
  5. 11:00 a.m. daily: Sports & Social, which WRAL's Fenton guide says serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
  6. 11:00 a.m. weekends, 11:30 a.m. weekdays: Doc B's, which serves brunch, lunch and dinner.
  7. 11:30 a.m. daily: CRÚ Food & Wine Bar, which serves brunch and lunch.

On a weekday, the list thins out fast before 11. One fitness studio, one coffee truck and one café cover the whole early morning. The restaurants that give Fenton its reputation start their day around lunch.

What Sweet Paris changed, and where it fits

Sweet Paris fills a specific gap. Western Wake NC described it as upscale fast-casual, "unlike the other restaurants at Fenton, which are full-service or takeaway only." You order at the counter, and there are marble-top tables inside and out. That makes it the first place at Fenton that suits a quick weekday breakfast or a laptop and a latte, two things a sit-down brunch room isn't built for.

The menu is built around crêpes, both sweet and savory. They run from Nutella or preserves with sweet cream to a "steakhouse" crêpe with sirloin and stroganoff sauce, and any crêpe can be made with gluten-free or vegan batter for $1.95 more. The News & Observer reported that the Houston-founded brand chose Fenton for its first Triangle location, and that the menu also includes breakfast plates, croffles, waffles, bowls, salads and paninis, plus coffee and cocktails. The Cary Chamber held a ribbon-cutting on September 8.

The timing tells you something too. Fenton first said Sweet Paris would open in spring 2026, and it opened at the end of the summer. The morning side of Fenton keeps running late, and that pattern matters most for the two openings still on the way.

The two morning pieces still missing

When Western Wake NC described Fenton's coffee options in September, it named two more that were on the way. One is a coffee bar in the Pagemore Hotel, which is still under construction. The other is coffee at The Salty Donut, which hasn't opened yet.

Concept What it adds Latest public status
The Salty Donut Artisanal doughnuts and coffee in a 2,572-square-foot space, its second North Carolina location Announced December 2024 with a late-2025 target. In June 2026, the company said it had no public opening date.
The Pagemore Hotel 186 rooms, a lobby bar and coffee concept, and Barouk, an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant Under construction as the last part of Fenton's Phase One. The developer's target is fall 2027.

The Salty Donut has kept people guessing. The Cary Report contacted the Miami-based shop in June 2026. The company confirmed it still had no opening date to share, and the newsletter saw construction happening inside the space. As of this writing, the shop's Fenton location page still says "Coming Soon" and gives no date.

The Pagemore is further off and more certain. The Town of Cary's 2026 State of Cary address says the hotel was approved in May 2025 and is under construction. It will include a restaurant, small retail spaces and meeting rooms. Until both open, Sweet Paris and the Carriage House truck are the whole early-morning coffee scene.

Daytime events have come one at a time

Fenton's daytime programming follows the same pattern as its tenants. There are good events, but most of them are one-offs. A YogaSix studio celebrated its grand opening on June 6, 2026, with a public event in Fenton's Backyard. On August 8, the Fit + Flow wellness festival ran from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A rescheduled, beginner-friendly YogaSix outdoor morning flow is on Fenton's calendar for this Saturday, October 10, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. It's listed as a single event, not a weekly class.

The one regular daytime event is the Triangle Pop Up Maker's Market, held on the third Saturday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with local artists, live music and vendors. Its 2026 dates ran from March 21 through October 17, so next Saturday's market is the last one on the posted schedule this year.

November hands the square back to the evening

Once the market wraps up, Fenton's calendar shifts back to its strongest hours. Skate the Square returns to Fenton Square by Paragon Theaters at 21 Fenton Main Street and runs from November 6, 2026, through February 7, 2027. Hours vary by day, so check the ticket page before you go. Fenton's posted pricing:

  • General admission is $18 plus tax and fees, and a season pass is $90 plus tax and fees.
  • Students pay $15 plus tax Sunday through Thursday, with a valid ID shown in person.
  • Every Monday is Cheapskate Day, at $15 plus tax.
  • Blades & Badges runs every Tuesday at $15 plus tax for veterans, military members, police, firefighters, EMS, doctors and nurses, with ID shown in person.
  • Skate aids for toddlers rent for $6 per 30 minutes, first come, first served.

The rink has three DJ nights scheduled: Après Ski on December 3, Y2K on Ice on December 10 and Holiday Hits on December 17. Before those, Light the Square, Fenton's annual tree lighting, runs November 21 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. It includes a Christmas Market of local vendors, a kids' area, holiday photo spots, skating, and a live stage show starting at 6:00 p.m.

Every big holiday event at Fenton peaks in the late afternoon and evening, the same hours its restaurants were built for. The difference this season is that a family heading to the rink on a Saturday can now start the day there too. Pilates opens at 8:00 a.m., the coffee truck is out on the green by 8:30, and Sweet Paris serves crêpes from 8:00 until close.
